In Here There Be Dragons, dragons appear in every guise--ghastly, ghoulish, gentle, gargantuan--always endowed with the author's ingenious touches. Each piece is introduced with the fascinating, and often revealing, story of its making and is illustrated with the intricate, moody pencil drawings of David Wilgus. The dragons in the book can travel by teleportation, and can communicate via telepathy, greatly strengthening their bond to humans, to whom they are no threat. I’ve always loved reading about dragons, whether friendly and wise ones, such as Saphira from Christopher Paolini’s Eragon, or the nasty, brutal and terrifying versions.

James Owen. Here, There Be Dragons. An unusual murder brings together three strangers, John, Jack, and Charles, on a rainy night in London during the first World War. An eccentric little man called Bert tells them that they are now the caretakers of the Imaginarium Geographica -- an atlas of all the lands that have ever existed in myth and legend, fable and fairy tale.   An extraordinary journey of myth, magic, and mystery, Here, There Be Dragons introduces James A. Owen as a formidable new talent. About the Author James A. Here, There Be Dragons focuses on a group of travelers that start off in London and take a voyage to a place called the Archipelago of Dreams. A 'world' of different islands, races and people. There are three from out world as we know it/5.

Here, There Be Dragons has made it onto my 'high fantasy' shelf for dozens of reasons. Characters you can befriend, a plot and storyline both tangled and exciting, literary references to blow your mind - I only have one reservation to prevent me from demanding all of my friends read this amazing book/5().

Here Be Dragons spans 51 years of Welsh and English history (from to ), focusing on the lives of three main characters: This is one of those rare books that is neither, that is thoroughly researched but never reads like biography; the characters and their inner lives and relationships are fleshed out in a way that would make any /5.

The shield that covers the kettle belongs to Perseus. The Summer Country compares to heaven, which is whatever one wants it to be. Description: SCP is a plain, cardboard box that is 32 cm x 20 cm x 26 cm. It is spray-painted silver on the interior and exterior, and the words "HERE BE DRAGONS" are handwritten in black permanent marker on the lid of the container.

Opening the lid of SCP when it is not in the process of a release reveals it to be empty. Here, There Be Dragons is just a fun, sit-back-and-entertain-me book.

The story is easy to follow, has interesting twists and most important, the characters are easy to like and care about. James Langton did an excellent job narrating. Here There Be Dragons is one of my favorite sorts of fantasy: Three strangers meet in the mundane world of London and shortly find themselves plunged into a struggle to save the Imaginarium Geographica, an atlas which holds the key to understanding (and saving) the 5/5(6).

Here, There Be Dragons Book Report #4 The Chronicles of the Imaginarium Geographica: Book One What do think it be like to be in a world that's mixed with Greek Mythology, the story of King Arthur, and something completely new.

The first book in the Chronicles of the Imaginarium. I love the poems about St. George, types of dragons, and Here There Be Dragons (which the title comes from). The pencil drawings by the illustrator are excellent.

The short stories are good, but not really masterpeices. Overall, this is a great book, as are the unicorn, witch, and angel books in /5(4). Here there be Dragons.

If there is such a person, I haven't met him, and I doubt that I would like him if I did. I am only disappointed that, because this book is so new, I'll have to wait too long to read the sequels." — Orson Scott Card, author of Ender's Game.
